Wire Transfers/ACH

WVU and WVU Research Corporation are set up to process electronic debits and credits such as Automated Clearing House (ACH) and Wire Transfer transactions. To protect all WVU and WVU Research Corporation bank accounts from unauthorized electronic debits, debit blocks and/or filters have been set up.

Automated Clearing House (ACH) – A domestic electronic banking network used to process both credit and debit transactions. ACH transactions are processed in a batch with a one or two day settlement period.

Wire Transfer – A same day transfer of funds between financial institutions. For domestic wire transfers, the Fedwire system is used. For wire transfers from the United States to other countries, the SWIFT system is used.
